Park Life
You never know what might happen in the
park.
On April 18, 2006
Rangers were called to the campground to help remove some
animals. In most cases this call would deal with
animals such as a problem dog, skunk, or some kind of snake.
Imagine the surprise when rangers showed up and
found........

While on routine bike patrol, park ranger
Rick Brooks came across a man illegally parking. After
a short conversation, the man thought it was appropriate to
run over ranger Brook's patrol bike. The subject was quickly
apprehended.

The murder scene!
A rangers
primary responsibility is the safety of park guests.
On this day at Norris Dam State Park, grand parents with
five grand kids with them were setting this camper up on its
leveling blocks. The engine backfired, catching the engine
compartment on fire. There was no stopping the burning of
this 1975 camper unit. All persons were away from the unit
and no injuries reported. Both gas tanks were full and two
propane tanks were full which caused several explosions as
the heat increased. The unit had brand new tires and was
ready for a trip to Florida next week. Rangers were
very happy no one was hurt in this inferno.
