Tennessee State Park Fire Team

The Tennessee State Parks Fire Team is made
up of commissioned rangers from all over the state.
The team is divided into 3 regions west, middle, and east.
Rangers are required to participate in practice burns to
keep training up, attend fire classes put on by the
Tennessee Forestry Division, as well as pass a pack test to
ensure good physical ability. Rangers who join this
team are taking on extra duties that are physically
challenging as well as dangerous. Pictured above are
photos taken from a fire that took place at Pickett State
Park in April of 2009. Rangers are working to establish a
fire line and later on take a short break after getting that
line established.
